Her expertise spans the diagnostic evaluation of a wide range of skin disorders, with particular emphasis on complex inflammatory diseases such as cutaneous manifestations of autoimmune conditions, vasculitis, vasculopathy, and autoinflammatory disease. She is highly skilled in cutaneous and indirect immunofluorescence and in the assessment of drug reactions, benign and neoplastic lymphocytic infiltrates, non-melanoma skin tumors, and challenging melanocytic proliferations.

Beyond dermatopathology, Dr. Magro has extensive experience in the pathology of autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases affecting other organ systems, especially the lungs. Her research has advanced understanding of microvascular immune-mediated endothelial injury in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and has defined the role of humoral immunity in lung rejection.
