Dr. Cynthia Magro received her training in anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and dermatopathology at Harvard Medical School.
Board-certified in anatomic pathology with subspecialty certifications in dermatopathology and cytopathology, she is internationally recognized in dermatopathology. She has co-authored over 375 papers, several book chapters, and three textbooks:

"Biopsy Interpretation of the Skin: Primary Non-Lymphoid Cutaneous Neoplasia"
Dr. Magro also serves as a senior co-editor of the Barnhill Textbook of Dermatopathology, the leading comprehensive textbook in the field.
Her expertise encompasses the diagnostic assessment of a broad spectrum of skin disorders, including complex inflammatory skin diseases such as the cutaneous manifestations of autoimmune disease, vasculitis, vasculopathy, and autoinflammatory disease. She is skilled in cutaneous immunofluorescence, indirect immunofluorescence, and the evaluation of drug reactions, benign, atypical, and neoplastic lymphocytic infiltrates of the skin, non-melanoma skin tumors, and problematic melanocytic proliferations.
Additionally, Dr. Magro has significant expertise in the pathology of autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases in other organ systems, particularly the lungs. She has authored numerous papers on the role of microvascular immune-based endothelial cell injury in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and has defined a role for humoral immunity in lung rejection.
